Portland OR - 2 days of Waterfalls, Doctor's & Doughnuts

Rita & I in the car at 6:45am to portland..... there is a reoccurring theme of early mornings.... which i'm not so sure i like!

by 9:30am we are visiting waterfall after waterfall after waterfall.... just coming out the side of the mountains. driving down the Historic Colombia Highway, the sights are gorgeous, and we experience the Multnomah Falls, gorgeous vista lookouts, all just in time b/c then we get poured on :)

Happy Hour, Microw Brew Beers, Diner at Jake's Crawfish, and martini's - thanks to Doctor Chris L.... a Doctor of little things, very little things.... that's all i understood about his thesis :) But he does know how to drink & eat in Portland! He is Rita's brothers best friend - a great host with a cool cow rug (to tempting not to pose on it). The seafood was great at Jake's and the Habanero martini's later were to die for!

Did you know Portland's River flows north and is the second largest next to the Nile??? I've seen the #1 & #2 North flowing rivers in the world - I wonder where #3 is.... can you guess where i might head next???

Walking around downtown portland is a trip! It is a very "Indy Hipster" town - i love it - and the people are friendly. It's also home to the largest bookstore - Powell's - I could spend days there - WAY better than a museum. Then there's Voodoo Doughnuts..... WOW - thanks for the suggestion Ian! Super amazing creative.... bubblegum, tang, oreo, mystery.... their motto is "good things come in pink boxes".... ha ha love it!!
